Been assembling and making up a few Metal Markers MK1.2 to fill orders... still have 2 weeks back order by the look at it.
Made a few leather stamps and tried a new technique to create really fine machining for steel touchmark! Quite happy with the result. The following image show the word "Nelson" that is about 1 mm tall !! This is jewelry grade touchmark done at production blacksmith grade strength!! I usually heat treat touchmarks on weekend, but due to the fact that last weekend I was away in the Aussie Leathercrafter meet, today I take some time off to do it.
Sadly I slipped while grinding Tim Moore's stamp, and took off a corner of the anvil, so I got to re do the whole stamp again (sorry Tim). Nevertheless as they said, 2 out of 3 ain't bad.. These are made of D2 heat treated to about 58 HRC for: Navarr Van Dyk Timothy Moore Nyati Blades |
